Lefferts Animal Hospital

Lefferts Animal Hospital was incredibly kind and supportive during one of the hardest moments of my life. I opened the card you sent and immediately started crying, it meant more to me than you probably realize. From the bottom of my heart, thank you to the entire team for making this end-of-life process a little less painful. This was my first time ever losing a dog (my family) and the grief truly feels different. Max was my childhood dog and I took him everywhere, so it’s been extremely hard not having him around. Thank you for helping me with the arrangements and for the compassion you showed throughout the process. Your care and kindness genuinely touched my heart, and it shows in every member of the staff. Thank you again for everything.

I’m taking care of a rescue dog (Bandit), and scheduled a wellness check at Lefferts Animal Hospital. When I brought Bandit in, they were great with him. He’s a 52 lb. terrier mix and has alot of energy. They gave him great care, made sure he was comfortable and gave him everything he needed. The doctor took his time to explain everything to me and was very patient, even though Bandit was very anxious and excited. There was a minor mix-up in services and charges, and they were very accomodating about reimbursing me for the misunderstanding. I waa very satisfied with how it was handled. In my visit, I also dropped a valuable personal item, which was very stressful for me to lose. I came on here thinking it was the new clinic Dr. Halpern was in & mistakenly clicked the old clinic . I realized a few reviews that caught my eye & kind of pissed me off & I truly wish Dr. Halpern was still at Lefferts. I have followed him everywhere he has moved because I trust him 1000% with my animals. I cannot speak about other doctors here because I’ve had different experiences with most of them and I’m not here to leave a bad review. I am only leaving 5 starts for HIM. For over 15 years, not once have I doubted Dr. Halpern’s care, judgment, or integrity. He has treated and helped over 40 of my own pets, as well as animals belonging to my family and friends. Overall the care provided when being by the vet is adequate. Depending on the doctor the information provided varies about the health of your furry baby. Just be careful and review your bill. Ask questions about what you are paying for as they itemized everything. As of now, not too happy with the service. We'll see if staying or moving somewhere else. Have called the office manager twice and unfortunately she had not been available at the time of my calls. Hmmm......

They don’t tend to reptiles anymore, but they were nice to check my tortoise out because I went there a few years before for my turtle. I told them the situation about the beak around his mouth that he may be having trouble eating cause he stopped eating and they could not even check it because my tortoise was a fighter was hiding in the shell so they couldn’t give a proper of observation, but they told me that they don’t think that it’s severe to get trimmed down that it’s just hibernated so just put it in warm water from time to time , And see how it goes, but my major issue is that they charge me $140 I think that’s a whole lot just to tell me how to take care of the turtle.
