I felt rushed when signing the consent form for wisdom tooth extraction and I do not recall any detailed discussion of serious risks such as nerve injury. Soon after the procedure, I developed persistent symptoms—tongue numbness, loss of taste, and difficulty swallowing. Before I became a patient of Dr. Chen, I had been seeing another dentist who always told me my teeth were in good condition. However, when I began experiencing pain in one tooth, I decided to visit Dr. Chen for a second opinion. She immediately identified that the tooth had severe bone loss and was at risk of falling out without treatment. Fortunately, Dr. Chen offers laser treatment, which is not commonly available in this area. I received the treatment, and over time, the tooth has gradually healed and is now functioning normally.
