Dr. MacKnight and Dr. Godwin and the whole staff went above and beyond for my dog, Libby... from diagnosis to surgery through a resulting arrhythmia, they were so thorough and careful and amazing. We come down from Frederick, and it's well worth the drive!

I've been going to Laytonsville vet for around 15 years now, and they always provide top quality care. Dr. Fitzpatrick has been treating my 2 cats since I adopted them 11 years ago and he is amazing. I fully trust his recommendations and know that he is going to do what is best for my animals no matter the situation, which is such a rare and wonderful thing to find. He is thorough and patient, and will explain everything to you very clearly, from routine checkups, diagnostics, and emergencies. If you're looking for a vet who will treat your cats as if they are their own, then you've found the place. Dr. Fitzpatrick is great. Feel very comfortable with him and Dr. Godwin and the care they give our pets. However, not all the vet techs are good. One made a mistake and we were given the wrong strength of medication for our elderly dog. Once we realized we had been giving the wrong amount to our dog, we let Dr. Godwin know and she did everything to make things right - running tests and monitoring our dog. Our dog is fine luckily.

The service is just okay, every time I call I get a receptionist who sounds like she hates her job. I don't need someone super enthusiastic over the phone but at least sound interested in what I'm calling about. Getting medical records from them is also a huge task, I have to call multiple times a week in order to get them. When I send them my pets' medical records they always tell me they never received them, but that's because my emails go to their spam for some reason, and I always have to tell them to check their junk folder. The wait for the doctor can sometimes be long as well. I only go back to this vet because they have decent pricing and good equipment.
