Las Palmas Medical Center

I recently gave birth to my first baby at Las Palmas Medical Center, and overall my experience was very positive. All of the nurses were incredibly sweet from Labor & Delivery through Postpartum and the NICU. They made me feel supported, cared for, and at ease during such a vulnerable time. The NICU staff was outstanding — they reassured us that our baby was in great hands and encouraged us to participate in his care, including feedings, diaper changes, and temperature checks, which helped us feel confident as new parents. The lactation support was excellent. The staff was patient, knowledgeable, and truly invested in helping me succeed with breastfeeding. This hospital is the only one we go to. They always get our daughter in quick and make her top priority. We've been here 5 times and I couldn't imagine going somewhere else. The respiratory team and the RNs are some of the best people I know! They do all the can to keep all of us comfortable the entire stay. Felipe, Michael, Luisa, Stephanie, fairuz are not only great at their job but they are great people. The pediatric team is top not at this hospital!!

Intake entered the wrong name and refused to correct it. I am waiting to see what insurance will do. Staff were pleasant and kind. One Nurse Practitioner was determined that she would prescribe Eliquess even though I told her that I'd been in the hospital for internal bleeding due to Eliquess in Nov. and my Dr. took me off of the medication!!! Then she decided that I would have to have oxygen at home and had it delivered within 30min. of my arrival to my home. Since I consistently registered in the high 90's on my oximeter, I returned the O2. I felt that I should have been up and moving so I could get my strength back. My family had to come down to El Paso and almost threaten whoever, to get me released. Surgery was great and I am recovering nicely.

Y’all, let me tell a story about this hospital. They released me without any aftercare for my wound, saying it was approved. TRICARE keeps denying it even though I need daily treatment. The surgeon told me I would be out of work for four weeks, yet they have no notation of this anywhere. The hospital was supposed to change my dressing every day, but they did not. They left me in pain multiple times with no solution as to why. Then, the day they were finally going to change the wound, they took away the pain medication. When I was released, I asked about a follow-up plan for who was going to change my wound. They said TRICARE select had approved me to go to wound care at the hospital. When I got home and went the next day for wound care, they didn’t even have an appointment for me. There

i gave birth here three weeks ago and had am amazing birth experience thanks to the wonderful nurses and doctors that took sure great care of us! a nurse even took the time to crochet a hat for my daughter. i had to be hospitalized there soon after i gave birth and everyone took great care of me and made sure i had everything i needed. so thankful i chose this hospital to give birth!
