Las Estancias

I was transferred to Las Estancias from the hospital for further recovery after a bad back injury. I was there for 7 weeks. Overall the facility was very clean and the nursing and therapy staff were highly professional, pleasant and efficient. I do have 2 complaints however..... First, I am a diabetic so I need to eat a diet that is low in sugar and carbohydrates to maintain good sugar levels daily. They said they were giving me a diabetic diet but what I was eating made my blood sugar spike to the point of needing insulin. I haven't needed insulin at all in over 10 years with the diet I eat at home. I requested specific food items for each meal from the menu provided, but that wasn't always what I got. Note: Kitchen manager Sammy was a great help when I could speak to him but that wasn't

I am blown away with the care my father has recieved during his stay here. The facility is immaculate, the care team (nurses, physical/occupational therapy) is extremely competent, and the food options accommodate my dads salt restriction diet well. Although I was initially a bit concerned about a facility so far from home (Rio Rancho), I am very greatful my dad was placed here after his time in the ICU. Thank you all so much. Especially Kim and the social worker Donna ❤ P.s I really rely on pictures to get a feel for the facility, so I've attached a few here. They allowed us to bring my dads kitty, Tiger, to come see him 😺

Overall my experience was great. It’s always stressful when visiting family in hospital settings. The staff were very helpful and supportive. I was very impressed with the front desk staff, especially Debbie. She always went above and beyond when I asked her questions. I also saw the way she interacted with others and she was so pleasant even when confronted with hostility. Thank you Debbie for all your help and positive attitude. It was always so welcoming when you worked the front desk.

My mother, Ruth, has spent several weeks here. She has been in several other SNFs and by far this was the best for accommodation, food and care. Special mention of the care given by Lucy and Yolanda in support of my mother.

Ocariz is an amazing nurse she brought out the red carpet when my mom was admitted, she brought us water with ice and made us feel like home!
