Lakeland Community Hospital

Dr Ben Cottrell MD was not helpful at all today. My sister had to come because she kept coughing and puking up her food, was previously tested positive for Covid. The only thing he cared about was if she was pregnant. He said an xray wouldn’t help but it could have told her if she had pneumonia. He also said he was having a stroke or a heart attack he could help. Basically if she was dying he could help. We left that hospital and went to Keller where they tested and done a xray. May have been there a while but they done more than what Lakeland did in the first five minutes she was back there. They were so caring helpful. Lakeland wasn’t all bad some staff was good but they need drs who won’t be misogynistic and who actually care about people’s well being.

When I was there struggling with an unknown disease the nurse drew my blood and I kept telling her I was in serious pain and couldn't move... She was starting to talk down to me like she didn't believe me like I was just seeking pain medicine.... And it took 3 visits once a week for them to finally do a scan and see my lymph nodes were severely swollen and I couldn't move because of the pain I was in. About a month later I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease that mimics cancer. They even thought I did have literal cancer but no... Theirs more resources for people with actual cancer then an autoimmune disease that mimics it. Then I got suicidal and went to get help and they were neglecting the old lady next to me and as she was calling out for help she got yelled at by 2 nurses. I get

I would give it 2 stars if it wasn’t for one lady who registered me and got my vitals she was amazing but the doctor was so rude I had no chance to speak wasn’t asked my medical history etc I barley seen her once for a second and had no chance to speak all they did was blood work and urine and gave me a zofran for dizziness/chest pain /shortness of breath?! This was my first time and I won’t be back

Very bad staff was in the waiting room for 4 hours with nobody coming to check the staff are very rude and mean to there patients the nurse mocked my family as she was walking away. The Emergency Room was awful and very dirty. Not very friendly and can’t get there papers together and does not communicate with other staff members.

Edit: I called at 11:40am today 3/29/25 and Mykayla answered and took my payment immediately. She was just back from her time off or a vaca. But, she didn't hesitate to take my payment and was very helpful. I don't know why noone else was able or willing but Mykayla was EXCEPTIONAL and she need a raise because, she's the only one that knows what's going on at Lakeland Hospital. I had test ran on 2/17/25. My claim was submitted to my insurance company and they paid their part on 2/27/25. I have been trying to pay my part ever since and CANNOT get anyone to tell me how to do that. I haven't received a statement and I have requested one twice. I've left numerous voicemails and am at a loss as to how on earth this hospital get's paid. This is VERY POOR SERVICE. Noone seems to know who I need
