LaFollette Medical Center

People talk about how bad our hospital is, but the last few times I’ve had to go, they have been excellent, and I’ve been in just about all the ERs near us. I had to take my son to the ER. Everyone was amazing, from the lady that checked us in, to the tech who took us back and took vitals and did the IV, to the X-ray tech, and then the doctor. Everyone was so friendly and helpful, and the doctor explained everything to where we as non-doctors, could understand. Thank you for making the best of a scary situation.

I am happy to report to you about my positive experience at Lafollette Medical Center. I had a knee replacement 4 weeks ago, and I'm doing better than I was before the surgery. Physical therapy was extremely helpful, so if you work hard, someone at Tennova will walk along side you.

Jennifer Hughes has been my physical therapist from day one of the problem solving and therapy my poor elbow required. Fantastic help. She guided me through a well thought out and implemented plan to what I have today, which is RECOVERY!!! Yay!! Not only did she do work (that worked!) and show me clearly how to help myself, but I have confidence that I can help myself prevent the kind of injury I was causing myself, and need be, if I do slip and cause issues again, to have TOOLS in my own TOOLBOX that I can use to get back on track, and beat the pain!!! This has been a wonderful experience in every way. Jennifer is professional, encouraging and a joy to work with. She's not stoic or disconnected or uncaring in the least. The unexpected trip to the ER was a very nice one. All the staff but one that helped me was amazing. The one that wasn't must have really needed a very much needed vacation. Upstairs everyone of people I came in contact with was very good at there beside manner. They all need a bonus as far as I'm concerned. Thank you all for helping me while I was there. P.S. even the house keeping staff was great.

The heart echo went well but I became short of breath in the lobby while my wife was parking the vehicle. The receptionist responded to me immediately and got me a wheelchair and a bottle of water. She went out of her way to help and continued to come back and check on me. The lady that did the paperwork let my wife handle it because I was not able to do the it. Chuck who done the echo was extremely nice and efficient and he rolled me out in the wheelchair through the ER so my wife could pick me up easily.They were all so very kind and gracious to me and I very much appreciate them.
