Thanks to the PT, OT and Speech Therapy Departments at Kindred Medical Center. You guys have healing hands. And you pull me through on this one.Fern, you and the team are amazing, and thanks to the GOAT.
Kindred Hospital has been incredibly helpful for our family, especially for my sister, who transferred from HCA Westside to the LTAC Unit, and then to the Acute Rehab. She spent over two weeks in the ICU due to a hemorrhagic stroke and had to get a trache and PEG tube placed. When she got to Kindred, she had a lot of limitations on the left side of her body, but the care provided to her at Kindred truly made a difference in her recovery. They transitioned her off the trache and PEG tube. The nursing staff were all great. Everyone was different, but most of them were attentive and showed a lot of caring and professionalism. Everyday my sister was treated with kindness, and she was a lot better for it. Dr. Bloomgarden was very attentive and thorough. She never rushed through the visits a
😤 A Dismal Discharge: A Cautionary Tale of Neglect and Broken Promises This hospital stay, intended for rehabilitation and progress, turned into a two-week ordeal marked by profound staff inconsistency and disturbing neglect. We were initially given a beacon of hope: during a conference call with the doctors, we were assured that my mother had been making significant, measurable progress in the final days of her stay, confidently suggesting she would be able to manage her mobility needs upon discharge. ✈️ The Crushing Reality of Discharge The bitter truth was revealed just hours later on her travel day. The much-touted progress was nothing more than a cruel illusion. She could barely walk to her seat on the plane, struggling agonizingly where the physicians had promised functional indepe
My husband Daniel was involved in a motorcycle accident over 2 months ago. He spent some time as a patient at Broward Health unresponsive, on a ventilator with several injuries . He was discharged from Broward Health and admitted to Kindred on Las Olas in September. I was very pleased with the level of care that he received at Kindred. When he first arrived, he was admitted on the Long term care side of the hospital. All of the nurses were very kind and attentive to him. From the floor nurses, case managers to the Wound Care nurses. The Respiratory care team, Diego from physical therapy, Petal from occupational therapy, and Lauren from Speech were extremely patient and encouraging with my husband. He finally got admitted to the acute rehab side where he was being treated by Dr. Bloomgarde
