Kentfield Hospital, San Francisco – Truly Exceptional Care My dad was admitted to Kentfield Hospital in San Francisco for quite some time, and I can honestly say this hospital is amazing. From the doctors to the nurses, CNAs, respiratory therapists (RTs), physical therapists, and even the reception staff — every single person played an incredible role in his recovery and comfort. They took care of my dad as if he were a member of their own family. Words truly can’t express the dedication, compassion, and love shown by each and every staff member. My dad was not just treated — he was genuinely cared for, with kindness, dignity, and affection. All the staff created a special bond with my dad and with our family. A special thank you to a few wonderful people we were fortunate to know perso
If I could give this place zero stars, I would. My father was on the road to recovery before being transferred here. After arriving at Kentfield, his condition declined significantly. The level of care he received was deeply concerning to our family. Communication was poor, and we often felt our concerns were not taken seriously. We trusted this facility with someone we love, and that trust was broken. The experience was heartbreaking and traumatic for our family. Shortly after being transferred here, my father passed away. We cannot help but question the care he received during his time at this facility. If you love your family member, please thoroughly research and ask hard questions before choosing this place. Our family’s experience was devastating, and we would not want anyone else to
The level of care for a long-term acute care setting is adequate. The admissions coordinator, Paul, went out of his way to inform me of what they specialize in, the level of care, and even shared the overall history of the SF and Kentfield locations. One could tell the admissions coordinator is very passionate about his role and truly considers the perspective of the patient first as well as the immediate family members involved in such challenging situations. The supervisor accommodated a last-minute tour of the facility. She was very transparent and answered all of our questions. Upon admissions, the nurse was kind, professional, and was in direct contact with me after sharing an update on how the patient was doing, the inventory items, and provided me with how to remain in contact.
If I can give less stars i would. Don’t leave your loved one’s care at the hands of this facility. The head of medicine removed 3 medications from my dad that are not supposed to be stopped abruptly. If the call button for the room works you can literally wait hours before someone even checks on you. My dad had wounds which required a special bed and the mattress would completely deflate and no nurses would come to help. He would have to call me and I would have to call the nurses station (who sometimes didn’t bother with the phones) and I would be told “oh yeah, looks like he pressed the call button 5 times in the past hour. The director of nursing always said they will talk to the nurses but nothing ever changed. The nurses are assigned too many patients they cant actually do their job.
This facility has no kitchen services for patients, so they get nasty tv dinners brought in cold in a truck, bone dry cold black beans, slimy cold spinach and slimy rice with chicken that is not fit for consumption. My friend was not getting any physical or occupational therapy after heart surgery, and lost 40 lbs due to terrible food. He had bed sores, and ultimately was transferred to stanford due to infections in leg from bed sores and an infection in his neck. None of the staff i spoke with could speak english that i could understand and none of them could answer simple questions that my friend and i had asked. Their response to me was always that it was their first day taking care of him. How could they have an uninformed nurse caring for him on a daily basis, with no info to share wi
