Kara M. Villareal, M.D., FACS

Just had an appointment with Dr. Villareal. I don't understand her attitude, but it was oddly combative or angry. I finally had to tell her that I was only there because my primary care physician wanted her opinion. I won't say she was exactly rude, but she certainly seemed aggravated that I was in her office, and she kept saying things like "I'm only asking" as if I had made some comment about her questions. I thought her questions were normal, so I answered them-only to be treated to some behavior I've never seen or heard before. I will absolutely be telling my primary care physician NOT to send anyone to her ever again. What a TERRIBLE attitude!

I had gallbladder surgery and was sent home with very little pain control. I also have other issues with my health which she was aware of since she established she would do my surgery at a previous hospital stay months prior. I'm really struggling with pain and have contacted the office for 3 days straight with no response from the dr about my pain control. When she finally called me back she lied to my face that she called and someone said I was too busy to take the call. I have call logs on my phone and call records to prove there was no call. She informed me since it was so far out she couldn't give me pain medication. I've been struggling every day since I had the surgery with bad symptoms and this doctor just doesn't care and lies about her efforts.

I was extremely happy with everything about my visit with Dr Kara Villareal. Starting with the call to make my appointment. I was actually amazed at how nice everyone was. The entire staff was so friendly and kind. I waited less than five minutes to be called to the back room then again only waited a few minutes to see the Doctor. She was very nice knowledgeable caring and explained everything very well. I would most defiantly refer my friends and family or anyone that needs their services that this is the place to go.

Dr. Villareal showed expert skill and professionalism. When I needed her to do an in-office surgical procedure she flawlessly accomplished it. I am grateful. It doesn't even look like I had an incision on my arm. I would return in the future, if needed, in a heart beat. Her staff was great too.

Had hernia repair surgery done in July. It is now January and I have yet to get any phone call to schedule a follow up or even ask how I'm recovery. Her bedside manner is for the birds. Extremely rude, like she can't be bothered to help you. She even sighed when I asked questions. If you get referred to this Dr, ask for another referral. She is awful.
