They’re a little slow, but what VA isn’t? The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, and are willing to give any information you request, or they will find the answer you need if they don’t know themselves. The hospital itself seems a little dated, but that has absolutely no effect on the quality of care they provide. I don’t remember their names, but I had two nurses in the ER who were very comforting when I received some startling news. Wonderful women, and one specifically stayed with me until I stopped crying and offered the best support I could ask for, silence and a listening ear. Those two saved me from spiraling, and I appreciate them so very much.

I would give it 0 stars if I could. I’ve been trying to get a referral for nearly 2 months for a specialty clinic that I have been attending for over 7 years with no luck. They always seem to mess something up with it. I had been going to a specialty clinic while on active duty and when I retired the KC VA was extremely unwilling to continue my care at my preferred clinic. Now I receive a letter stating my referral will be cancelled in 2 days, 1 of those days being a holiday! The letter took 10 days to be sent and it states they have been trying to contact me to schedule the appointment, but they can’t even send the referral to my specialty clinic for me to schedule the appointment! Luckily I have additional insurance that I will be using in the future instead of this broken KCVA system.

Sat in ER for 2 1/2 hours. They skipped us and took 2 other people back before us. Finally got us back in room waited another hour for CT scan. And another 2 1/2 hours still no results!! Poor hospital staff!!! They don't get in any hurry!!

They saved my life and I am extremely grateful , not always the fastest service but good quality in the end, I can't say anything negative because they have saved my life and continue to do so , I have to do , y part too , follow up and , ale appointments , take advice and follow through , I'm intnr best shape I been in since high school 32 waist 170 pounds , quit drinking And doing drugs , quit smoking cigarettes and quit opiates . I'm lucky to be alive VA works if I do my pay too. God bless all of you employees , doctors volunteers . Lon Dorsey

Doctors and nurses in the oncology department are exceptional, kind, caring and most of all they lift your spirits up when your having a bad day. They are truly a blessing
