Customer Reviews
Pharmacy is now charging “service fees” on top of existing copays. Was charged an additional ~$45 in “service fees” on top of my normal monthly prescription expenses of ~$130, for necessary medical supplies related to my type 1 diabetics. The “service fees” were not disclosed until I picked up my prescriptions at the counter. I fully understand the pharmacy and health insurance companies need reform, but the costs should absolutely NOT be passed onto the patient in the form of deceptive, higher out of pocket costs. It’s disgraceful to think of seniors and others who may have to pick which medications they pick up because the pharmacy is instituting “service fees” that the pharmacist acknowledges herself is against their contract with health insurers. If they cannot afford to do business w
I was very happy to go to this pharmacy until few weeks ago. Despite I have the same insurance plan, they are charging now charging some fees ($15.44) because « the insurance companies are giving us nothing » ( that’s what they told me). I understand but as it s a monthly prescription. Also when I went to pick up my prescription ( renewal) one medication was missing. I realized once I was out of the pharmacy ; I came back and prepared the rest ( I called 3 days before I picked it up to be sure everything will be ready). I guess I will look for another pharmacy. I was very happy to work with a local business until this last few weeks.
Unhelpful staff verging on rude. I switched to this pharmacy from CVS because nothing could be worse than the nearby CVS, but have since switched again to Harris Teeter because of this.
Kalorama Pharmacy is a true gem in the neighborhood! Unlike big-box chains, this family-owned pharmacy offers a level of personalized care that’s rare to find. The pharmacist is incredibly knowledgeable, takes the time to understand your needs, and genuinely cares about your health and well-being. From expert advice to friendly service, every visit feels personal and reassuring. I’ll always choose Kalorama Pharmacy over the large chain stores—highly recommend!
Just moved into the neighborhood and love this pharmacy! Such a breath of fresh air coming from using CVS. Everyone is so kind and friendly and efficient. Dog friendly and they have treats too :)
