Kaiser Permanente Moanalua Medical Center : Emergency Room

Hawaii people are known to be caring and very humane and that plays out at Kaiser. Anybody can have a bad day, we have all met a stressed out person here or there, but 99% of the time I have been deeply gratified by the care I have received as a Kaiser member at this facility. And I consider myself very lucky to have these professionals available to me as I age in place here in Honolulu.

I had a disappointing experience during my recent visit to the Kaiser Moanalua ER. I had stepped out briefly to grab a snack from the vending machine located near the entrance, and when I returned to go back in the same way I came, I was met with an unexpectedly rude encounter. A male nurse at the entrance did not acknowledge me as a patient or even take a moment to see if I was okay. Instead, he abruptly pointed and shouted, “Go around, go around,” without any explanation or assistance. It felt unnecessarily aggressive and dismissive, especially considering I was already being seen in the ER. I understand protocols are in place for security or health reasons, but there are far more professional and compassionate ways to communicate with patients — especially in a healthcare setting wher

Terrible experience all around. Misdiagnosed, treated poorly, incorrectly billed Tricare with wrong code so I had to pay Tricare $350.00 out of pocket. My recommendation is go to Pali Momi Medical Center or another ER in the area. This place looks like prison and treats patients terribly. Not military friendly.

I’m so impressed with how fast the check in and getting a room where the doctor was ready to see my partner. But most of all I’m so impressed with staff. They were caring enough where it didn’t feel like “it’s another patient”. They asked effective questions, did tests based off the answers they had and quickly found resolutions. Everyone was so kind and patient. I’m extremely in awe of the staff & treatment❤️ thank you Kaiser for being kind.

My daughter (toddler) was recently seen in the ER last week. It was a scary situation, and the staff were absolutely incredible. The nurses and physicians took such great care of our little baby. Thank you so much!
