Kaiser Permanente Downey Medical Center

My stay at Kaiser was from December 1st to December 8th and again December 13 to December 18, fractured pelvis!! my experience was good my nurses to good care of me, Ms. Ebony, Ms.Jessica, Patrick, Ms.Regena( I hope I got that right) and Ms. May, would come to see how everything was. Dr.Pham amazing!! Blanca, Gabriela, were great as well, but the night people that assisted the nurses need a little help in being more compassionate, when they wake you up from a deep sleep you can have a heart attack or something, it’s not like you are in jail, they need to try and wake you up slowly, it’s not you are waiting on them to come in, don’t like night shift then don’t work the night shift, PT Orry and his team were great a little pain no gain kind of people, but mean well.

Kaiser Permanente Downey provides good overall care. The staff and nurses are professional and attentive, and the facility is clean and well-maintained. Wait times can vary, but the doctors take time to explain things and answer questions. Overall, a positive experience and I appreciate the care provided.

Overall, my experience at Kaiser in Downey was very good. I was treated with kindness and respect by all the staff. All the nurses were super kind and professional; however, I had a closer connection with Carmelita (floor 6). Thank you, Carmelita, for working with your heart and truly caring for your patients. Although I had to wait a long time for my surgery, which was disappointing for my family. I understand that patients in critical condition and emergencies were being prioritized. Thanks to God, I wasn’t in critical condition. I had everything I needed during my stay, and I truly appreciate the care I received. I’m very happy with the service provided, and I definitely recommend Kaiser in Downey.

I was admitted to Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Downey, CA from 11/20–11/25/25, and I want to express my deepest gratitude for the incredible care I received. From the nurses, anesthesiologists and physical therapists to the CNAs, charge nurses, cafeteria staff, and EVS team—every single person I encountered was exceptional. I had spine surgery and was very limited in what I could do on my own. Because my family couldn’t be with me, the hospital staff truly became my support system. They were there around the clock, always keeping an eye on me. Every time I pressed the call button, someone came right away—whether I needed help getting up to use the restroom, adjusting my pillows, pulling my tray closer, uncovering my feet, or simply getting more comfortable. I had a “procedure “ in the cath lab yesterday. As a retired nurse I can understand the difficulties in their jobs. I felt none of that. They were kind and loving and explained everything thoroughly. We shared some giggles also which tamped down some of my anxiety. A huge thank you to everyone on that team.
