Julio Cantero, MD - Intercoastal Medical Group

My family doctor recommended a stat appointment with Dr. Cantero for my problem. Got a call from his office to set it up from a woman with a snotty menacing tone, saying "this is the date you're coming" (wouldn't work because it was before my MRI), "don't be late," and "bring a book." I'm thinking I had the pleasure of dealing with Melissa based on other reviews. Their waiting room has all the charm of a seedy bus station with dead-eyed staff. Doctor himself had no interest in reviewing my MRI and told me I "wasted my money." He spent more time commenting on my partner's neck size and need for a CPAP than listening to me. He was condescending and rude and kept touching my hand in a dismissive manner. Plenty of other neurologists out there. This place is miserable.

Dr. Cantero is an excellent doctor. I highly recommend him. Dr. Cantero is kind and has pleasant personality. I brought a list of my medications, and was confused, Melissa, MA brought me in the office and opened the computer. She was so kind, and competent. Melissa is a great asset. Kathleen A. Goodwin

I have been having dizzy spells with headaches and nausea my whole life. Doctors have all looked to my heart without results and been dismissive. Dr. Cantero (although rushed), did appropriate testing and quickly diagnosed epilepsy, with the easiest test I've ever had! I'm being treated and feel better than I have in years. The staff is awesome. I'm forever grateful

I’ve only seen Dr. Cantero twice but have had a seizure disorder for majority of my life. It can be hard to find a doctor that doesn’t push unnecessary medication but my experience with Dr. Cantero has been wonderful so far. He really listens and doesn’t brush off what I’m feeling. The questions he asks show he’s try to find a solution. I’m very grateful to have found him as my last 2 neurologists were TERRIBLE

I waited 4 months to see Dr. Cantero. He showed up over an hour and a half late to the appointment, which I would not have minded if he took the time to actually participate in my appointment. He was rushed, dismissive, rude, and hadn't reviewed any medical records prior to meeting with me. He didn't complete any of the baseline neurological tests before diagnosing me with "complex migraine." I found a different neurologist and was diagnosed and treated for a different medical diagnosis and I am doing well. Would not recommend Dr. Cantero.
