Dr.Ko seemed OBSESSED with my ability to get pregnant, despite my being 21, not in a relationship, actively getting a degree, and being exclusively into women. I get the fear that someone will turn around in their 40s and realize “oh shit I can’t get pregnant now because of those meds I took once”, but that’s not how lupus meds work. Every time we talked about a new med, the first thing she’d say would be “well it’s not ideal for pregnancy”, I AM NOT PREGNANT, and I have 0 plans to become pregnant anytime soon. I was SO clear about this, multiple times, and it just felt like she didn’t listen or care. I truly believe my overall experience would have been significantly more positive if she didn’t have this random and unfounded fear about my meds in a hypothetical future pregnancy.
Dr. Ko is an excellent Rheumatologist. She is so thorough and explains everything in a way you can understand. I highly recommend her.
