I had a really disappointing experience here. I came in for an emergency visit on Wednesday, and after several attempts to get my prescription corrected (which wasn’t covered by insurance), I finally gave up. Each time I called, it felt like the staff grew more and more annoyed, as if I was a bother for simply trying to fix the issue. When I came back for a follow-up appointment on Friday, I tried to bring up the prescription problem again — and instead of helping, they tried to charge me another $65 copay and blamed the situation on Sentara. Completely unprofessional and frustrating. After this experience, I wouldn’t recommend Tidewater Eye Center to anyone. The service is trash, and the staff clearly lacks care or accountability for their patients.

The staff and Doctor Tomko are always professional and caring. I would recommend this office to all. They are outstanding.

Had a very extensive eye examination by Dr. Tomko. She was very thorough and eased my concerns about my left eye. I have been going to Tidewater Eye Center for several years now and highly recommend.

Drove up from NC Outer banks…I had a 120pm appointment. When I walked in around 1:10, there were quite a few people in the waiting area. my first thought was naturally, “great! I’m going to be here forever!” I did not even have time to fill out my 1 sheet before they were already calling me back. The first stage went super quick, she listened to me, she was super nice and helpful… Then they took me back to the waiting room and said somebody would call me so they could take pictures of my eyes or something. I sat down and started to play a game on my phone and don’t even think I finished one round before I was being called back again. same as before, this lady was also nice, explained the process, and was super quick.
