Jon Kimball, MD | Orthopedic Spine Surgeon

Dr. Jon Kimball is the most amazing surgeon I have met! As a registered nurse I have worked with many surgeons in the OR. Dr. Kimball is exceptional! 10 months ago I walked into his office for a surgical consult. I knew immediately he knew his stuff! He is very knowledgeable on every aspect of neurology and surgical intervention pertaining to his profession.What should have been a 3-4 hour surgery ended up being a 10 hour surgery! He scrubbed out to speak to my daughter to tell her things were worse than expected and to get consent to perform what needed to be done. Dr. Kimball is very compassionate, explains things on a level that any lay person can understand. Met Dr Kimball a few years ago after many years of lower back issues. He did a revision Discectomy, followed later by a lumbar fusion this past May. I spent a lot of time trying to find a spine surgeon that I felt was experienced and willing to look at all options and give me the education I needed. He has been fantastic in every visit, taking time to ensure I had questions answered, etc. I highly recommend Dr Kimball- he’s the best of the best and I finally walk without pain.

Dr. Kimball is the most humble and knowledgeable surgeon that I’ve met. Always willing to learn and adapt to each patients needs. Just based on my experience, he’s a great listener and does well explaining his thoughts where I can understand what I need. He also entertains my thoughts and opinions which is more than I can say for other practices that I’ve visited for the same conditions that Dr. Kimball has treated me for. I highly recommend Jon Kimball for anyone who needs a spinal consult or procedure! Not to mention his staff is extremely friendly and responsive to calls and texts which is super convenient. If I could give him 10 stars, I would!

Dr. Jon Kimball is a true professional. He took time to explain to me what was happening and although it wasn’t news that I wanted to hear (that my arm surgery had caused permanent nerve damage). It needed to be said. It was delivered honestly but wit such compassion. He also reminded me that I couldn’t “give up” and say I “couldn’t start iv’s anymore…he said…hey look it up on you tube. There are nurses with only one arm starting ivs like a boss!” That is how someone like me is inspired. Thank you. I’ve never let my son with Cerebral Palsy use his diagnosis as a crutch not to “give it hell”….and he is getting a masters degree in education currently. I scheduled an appointment about 2 months in advance that worked around my schedule and what the Dr had available. Three and half weeks before the appointment I was called by Makayla to move the appointment, but the staff could not accommodate anything that also fit around my schedule. They refused to help get an appointment even though I offered at least 9 other dates that were close to the original date and worked for my busy schedule. They said I had to take one date that they arbitrarily picked and where they only worked from 9:30am-12pm, a date that I already had commitments in downtown SLC. They offered an date in December but I have already been in excruciating pain since July/early August. In my experience, when a Dr needs to shift a schedule, then the staff should try any means to
