Johnson Health Center - Amherst County Community Health Center

As a former employer of JHC it totally slipped my mind that they were opened on Saturdays until 1p. My fiancee and 2 yo daughter tried 3 different urgent cares who had 3 hr waits, no availability and systems were down before it dawned on me that JHC was opened. We rushed over to get them seen and we're so thankful for a woman who worked the front desk that day named Tammy, she made it possible for them to be seen and saved us a trip of having to go the ER and it is so appreciated. I also would like to thank Brenda Kozak and her nursing staff who helped them as well. Great job to this team, got them in and out with no problems!

Check in process was pleasant and appreciated prior online preregistration process. Difficulty and frustration maneuvering the Portal and its challenging process. Not very user friendly. Nurse seen at today’s visit was very professional and personable. Ms. Shapiro NP was very professional and thorough. I would recommend Johnson Health as a very reliable and professional medical facility. Our PCP Brenda Kozak NP is wonderful to communicate and follow up with all medical concerns. Avoid this place! I unfortunately used to be a patient here and instead of doing a cleaning, xrays, and exam in one appointment they make you schedule 3 separate appointments to do it, and of course it’s always months out. I have waited a hour past my appointment time to get called back every time I’ve gone. They will also randomly cancel your appointments for no reason and take forever to give you a new one. I now go to Central VA Dentist and they did all 3 in the same appointment and I was in and out in under an hour. Thank God I stopped going here!

i’m not satisfied at all . i have been going here since I was a child and recently had a urinalysis done and have been waiting 2 WEEKS for my results . I was told I would receive an email or be able to see the results in my portal I’ve yet to see either and I have called probably five times over the past two weeks and I just keep getting told that they will call me back and they have yet to do so. I feel like they are not taking my health seriously and I’m highly disappointed and frustrated!

I just love going there. Dr. Kozak is the absolutely the best. She's listens and helps with everything. Her bed side manner is out of this world and I just love all the nurses.
