My daughter had a scheduled appointment with Dr. Berland. After arriving on time, we waited over an hour due to a front desk error the staff failed to check us in despite assuring me that the process was completed. When the mistake was finally discovered, we were informed that Dr. Berland refused to see my daughter and that the appointment would need to be rescheduled. This decision was made even though the delay was entirely caused by the office staff and not the patient. I drove three hours round trip and spent an entire afternoon waiting with my daughter, who has albinism and requires specialized ophthalmologic care. Dr. Berland saw my granddaughter (13 years old) this past Friday for a post-operative follow-up appointment. He was very kind and explained every procedure to put her at ease. He also took the time to make sure her chart was accurate by updating notes regarding this same procedure he had done when she was 9 months old. When I told him she had been diagnosed with T1D he showed tremendous compassion and set up annual eye exams that are so necessary to guard her vision. Dr. Berland is a wonderful doctor!

Dr. Berland operated on me to correct very bad double vision. I had to have prisms in my glasses for years, each year getting worse with thicker prisms and thicker lenses. After surgery June 2016, my vision is outstanding, I don't need prisms any more, and my glasses are so thin. The operation was a complete success, and Dr. Berland and his staff are extremely capable and caring. On a one to ten scale, he's a fifteen!

Dr. Berland is knowledgeable and consistently follows up with us personally after appointments or correspondence with our other doctors. He can be initially dismissive of parent comments or concerns, but he is willing to address them in his own time.

Dr. Berland has been amazing with my son and treating his condition of Strabismus. Dr. Berland has a great bedside manor and he has made the right decisions in my son's treatment. Highly recommend!
