I went in with a 2 day ruptured appendix, I almost met my maker that night , they rushed me in and did emergency 6 hour surgery at 2am. Spent 5 days in ICU and 2 months daily outpatient for wound care and vacuum pump. I think I met everyone that works there in that time period and they are all wonderful people and very knowledgeable. I honestly cannot say anything negative about the staff or the facilities. They saved my life.

Our first experience at Jefferson Medical Center Emergency Room was truly outstanding. We brought our daughter in with a very high fever and nausea, and from the moment we arrived, we felt cared for and supported. Dr. Cierra Hardt and Nurse Amanda Smikle were absolutely amazing. They acted quickly to diagnose our daughter and made sure she received the medications she needed without delay. What stood out the most was how personalized and compassionate their care was; they took the time to explain everything, answered our questions, and treated our daughter with such kindness that we genuinely felt at home during a very stressful moment. Had sever pain on right side of abdomen doctor said he believed it was kidney stone , set up CT scan. Blood work , urine sample showed traces of blood . Doctor comes back says CT shows no kidney stones he says I must have passed it but CT shows constipation . I know several people that have passed kidney stones and have said how painful it is so no I never had kidney stones, but the doctor never asked about bowel movement . I went home later that evening i figured my bowel was blocked drank a bottle of magnesium citrate took almost 4 1/2 hours but I finally started going to the bathroom. I had a bowel blockage years ago but forgot how painful, this doctor asked zero questions he had already decided it was a kidney stone and that was it unless i get taken there by ambulance I won’t step foo

I took my 86 yr old mother to the ER this week because she couldn't breathe. The best part of the visit was the triage which took about 30 minutes. They did a nose swab, however it took over 2 hours before someone told us she had RSV. The doctor didn't come in for at least 3 hours and the breathing treatment didn't come until 4 hours. I was with her for over 8 hours in the ER and had to advocate for them to keep her overnight to monitor her because they wanted to send her home even though she still was having breathing issues & is very frail. During her 24 hour stay at this hospital she was rarely seen by anybody. Even though this hospital is convenient I doubt we will ever return. I'm not sure if they're understaffed or what the issue is.

Came into the ER on a busy Saturday night and was pleasantly surprised by how quickly I was seen. Dr. Joe Mills was absolutely fantastic — great bedside manner, genuinely kind, and even had a few jokes that helped put me at ease during a stressful situation. He took the time to explain everything clearly and made sure I understood each step of what was happening, which made a huge difference. You couldn’t ask for a better doctor during an emergency. Very grateful for the care I received.
