Iowa Ortho Orthopedic Urgent Care - Des Moines

This is a phenomenal urgent care service for our city/metro area! I went to their Laurel location downtown Des Moines yesterday. After some brief paperwork and questions (to be expected), I was taken to an exam room, triaged, escorted to get X-rays then taken back to an examination room where their NP On Duty thoroughly examined me AFTER taking the time to talk WITH ME about my overall health and my immediate concern/s. I truly felt heard here. I’m now in a brace and awaiting an appointment with a hand specialist in one of their metro areas clinics where I will learn more about my options and the doctor’s recommendations. I went in around 2:30 was done by 3. In that time I was able to complete paperwork, have X-rays and meet with the provider. It was very quick and efficient. Kraig explained everything to me in detail and in a way that I was able to understand. We came up with a plan of care and then discussed what the next steps are. I’m confident in the care I received and would recommend.

I visited Iowa Ortho after trying to visit Mercy Urgent Care. I was told Urgent Care was now Family Practice. I met with the wonderful Kraig Hootie’s, PA-C. I had fallen and the toes on both feet were black and blue. He had my feet x-rayed, read the x-rays, advised me of the results and sent me on my way. I so appreciate his attention.

The staff treated me with respect and in a very professional manner. The problem was addressed and a reasonable treatment plan was suggested. I appreciate that Dr Bjornson kindly listened and addressed all of my concerns. I am very happy to have this provision of an urgent care for Iowa Ortho.

Urgent Care was great. Can't get a anyone to call me back to schedule an MRI though. Been 5 days now.
