Intensive Specialty Hospital of Louisiana

My mom was sent to ISH after nearly dying in a rural hospital. Her recovery was very dependent on the long term, acute care she would get at ISH. The overall experience at Intensive Specialty was very positive. We had one negative experience with one nurse. I advised the doctor what had happened, he contacted Charlie in administration, and the problem was addressed and resolved immediately. The best facilities will have a problem from time to time. I judge by how people respond to the problem. Charlie handled it with style and grace, and we had no other problems. The food was pretty good, with a couple exceptions. If I could give this place 10 stars I would! The staff is awesome they really care about the patients and they go out of their way to help you. No matter how small your need it doesn't matter they are happy to do whatever they can to make your stay there better. This is the best rehab facility I have ever been to. The physical therapists and the occupational therapists really work hard to get whatever your problem is fixed so you'll be whole again! If I ever need rehab again this is where I would come. I would also recommend this place to my family and my friends because I know they would get well cared for here.

Appreciate very much the CEO & Operations Manager for letting us park our RV in the adjacent parking lot as we were traveling when injured. The PT & OT teams were incredible! Their professional but friendly encouragement helped maintain a positive environment for genuine progress. The Doctors were excellent in their oversight and treatment. Nursing staff were excellent as well. As attentive as you wanted them to be. Patients have to be willing to be a part of the team and we were welcomed into that winning formula. Thank you food staff for the enjoyable southern cooking and guest tray. I am only knocking off a star due to poor facility maintenance as others have noted. A clogged sink should not take a week or more to remedy (had to change rooms), blinds should function for patient privacy,

My stay here was the best thing that I have done in my life. All the nurses were fantastic and very caring. They took care of me above and beyond. The facility is top notch. The sweet ladies that came in to clean my room were kind and very considerate towards me. Felicia and Melvin were very personal and made me feel like part of their family. The techs who came in to check my vitals were awesome. I appreciate Dr. Abou Faycal for everything he did for me. I had been sick for a long time and now I'm my old self. Thank all of you again. Please do not send anyone that you care about to this facility. my mother went there from the hospital did not get a shower for over a week got overdosed and got worse every single day. This is supposed to be a rehab, but it is worse than a nursing home.
