Huntingdon Valley Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center

I have been a resident for a few months so hopefully my observations and perspective will be helpful. But first a little backstory... In September 2025, I suffered a stroke, brain bleed, paralysis and so on. Being only 55 years old, my mother and father stepped in to handle my care and decisions. I was unconscious for nearly two weeks, when I woke up I could not move my limbs or talk. Over the past 5 months, my journey took me to a few wonderful care facilities, ALL have played an invaluable role in helping me regain nearly all of my faculties and physicality. This post will hopefully inspire folks going on a similar journey. My true motivation for this post. Is to share my story of hope and heap praise on mostly unnamed faces that do God's work. My grandfather came here after hip-repair surgery. I'm an RN and I thought my grandfather received excellent care here. All of the staff were helpful, careful, and accommodating. I was very pleased with their care and will be looking into long-term care for my grandmother here.

My mother has been here for a month now, and I must say that she is receiving much better care than she has previously. This facility is under new ownership and management so reviews from a year ago are not reflective of the care provided at thia facility now. They are well staffed, they keep it clean, and what I like most, is they keep the residents actively engaged. I'm particularly impressed with Natalia- Recreation Director who creates great programming and makes sure all residents participate and enjoy themselves. She took the time to reach out to me and learn my mother's likes and dislikes. My mother has been in 5 different facilities and yet this was the first time we experienced a focused level of care and concern. So far, I am very pleased.

We’re deeply grateful we found Huntington Valley Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for our mom; we couldn’t be happier! The staff’s kindness, warmth, and genuine care shine through daily, specifically, Frasia, One of the administrators she is absolutely fantastic! Each visit—three or four times a week—Mom’s room is spotless, her bed neatly made, and she’s well-cared for. We can’t praise this place enough! For anyone needing assisted living for a loved one, Huntington Valley is the perfect choice.

This is review is based on AFTER the reopening of the dementia unit downstairs in August 2025. I can't speak to conditions before the reopening (I heard things weren't so good) or conditions in other units, but our experiences in the locked dementia unit have only been positive so far. And we've had family at this facility EVERY SINGLE DAY since move-in day, so that's almost 25 visits so far to base this on. From our perspective, all staff (nurses, aides, PT, OT, Speech, Activities, and administration) have consistently been pleasant, patient, and attentive to the needs of our loved one (and other residents). Whenever we've had questions, concerns, or comments, staff have been open and receptive to hearing us, explaining things, or modifying things when appropriate. I think the closure an
