From the moment we arrived, the staff treated us with compassion, patience, and professionalism. I drove over three hours from Connecticut based on strong recommendations from my sister and her coworkers in New Jersey, and I would do it again without hesitation. This was my first experience navigating major surgery as a dog mom, and I was understandably nervous. The veterinary team took the time to explain every step of the process, from the surgery itself to post operative care and medications. They never rushed me, answered all my questions, and made sure I felt informed and supported. After surgery, the communication was exce

They’ve got the best drugs at this place. The staff is great and really seem to care. They are very accommodating. The doc is knowledgeable, direct, and also clearly cares. Our pitty has had 2 TPLOs, an FHO, and a knee fusion. We happily make the drive from NYC, but hope to never need their services again. Highly recommend.

Today was my final straw, which is so upsetting as we have been a patient here for years and have previously loved coming here, but things have changed over the past year or two. Summary: - My appointment was rescheduled 3 weeks in a row. - I had a 10:20 appointment today and did not get seen by the doctor until 11:45 ish. - Was told that we absolutely “must” remove a lump that was checked by the same doctor years in a row and never previously told we had to remove it. Quoted $2,400 for it. - Had to wait another 30 minutes simply to pay and check out. We travel over an hour to come to this vet and this was the third visit where we had to wait over an hour to be seen for a scheduled appointment. I understand there are emergencies but then you should call and tell me to come later. My dog

DO NOT GO HERE I have never experienced such a shocking lack of humanity from a business, let alone an animal hospital. During the severe snowstorm this week. my families car broke down while trying to bring a friend to this establishment and had no choice but to temporarily park on their property while trying to figure out how to get it fixed safely. Instead of even basic compassion or understanding, the owner —MAHMOUD HUSSEIN🤢 — was aggressively rude, dismissive, and treated me like us was doing something malicious rather than trying to survive a dangerous situation. Dr Hussein is an excellent veterinarian with superior diagnostic and surgery skills. His staff is also very skilled and friendly and always helpful. Over the years, 3 of my pets have received surgeries by dr Hussein, and they all had smooth and quick recoveries. And there are also those small, but very touching details in this practice. On the wall behind the reception desk are these magnetic animal footprints with the names of the pets who are having surgery that day. As well as a candle on the reception desk desk with a little note saying: «if this candle is lit, it means someone is saying goodbye to their beloved pet. Please act respectfully». Howell Animal Hospital is a high quality facility with a caring staff. Highly recommended!
