We visited Hillsdale Hospital mid-January 2026. Both my cousin and myself were there in support of my younger brother who was having a hip replacement done! I think it was his RH side. Both my cousin and myself have had this type of surgery done in the past. For her I think only 2-3 years ago and for my double hip maybe 5-6 years ago. Although we both have had very positive experiences with our respective in surgeries and they were done at different hospitals our experience at Hillsdale was extremely positive. Neither of us have any skin the game there but the entire facility even though not brand new was very welcoming, extremely clean, smelled good and the overall staff from the custodians to the cafeteria people to the nursing staff and lastly the various Doc’s were first r
Recently took my daughter to sturgis er and Coldwater er because the walk in was concerned about appendicitis. Neither hospital did ANYTHING. So I called hillsdale hospital and they said they’d do more to help so we took her there. They gave her a cat scan and iv fluids and retested her for Covid strep and flu. Why sturgis and Coldwater couldn’t or wouldn’t do a repeat swab I don’t know. But Hillsdale is the ONLY place who was able to find out wth was wrong with her. She kept having high fevers. Headaches. Nausea. And was shaking. Turned out it was not appendicitis. She was tested positive for flu a. The dr we had was very kind and came to us and said “we’ve found the culprit She tested positive for influenza”. The nurses were all very good with her. Mind you she is a 7yo who was sick a
I went to the ER yesterday 2.5 weeks post op ( surgery done at Hillsdale hospital as well after care has been less than desirable) the surgeon who did my surgery is on vacation. One of my IV sites from surgery is still pretty painful, hot to the touch, and I have a purple/red rash going up my arm from the IV sites. The actual puncture site from the IV has a big white ring around it as well. With my surgeon being on vacation I went to the ER to get looked at. In walks the physicians assistant the one with face piercings and a horrible attitude. 0 bed side manner, she walked in arms folded. She asked what I was being seen for I explain and she doesn’t even pretend to examine or have any interest in seeing me. She doesn’t even put gloves on, doesn’t look at the rash, doesn’t examine the area
I went to the er for severe pelvic/abdominal pain, there wasn't anyone else in the waiting room but it took forever to get seen, the front desk lady was very rude and didnt care about my pain in the slightest, the nurse I saw first was very nice but the dr that came in after was so rude and nasty, they ran some tests and she claimed there was absolutely nothing there, I told her the pain I was having felt like an ovarian cyst, as ive had them a few times before, she laughed and said nope nothing there and that all women get ovarian cysts, and id be fine, I saw an ob right after and was diagnosed with pcos, and they told me I did in fact have 2 extremely large cysts on my left ovary, they even said their size was very concerning, ive been being monitored for them now and still have them mon
I went to the ER because I had fallen, I ended up catching myself with my hand and this in turn caused pain in my wrist. With the amount of pain I had, I was just so sure something was wrong with it, even holding my phone was causing immense pain, but I was told I only had a contusion (essentially a bruise). The next day I went for a second opinion somewhere else and sure enough there was a hairline fracture. I am so tired of defending this hospital when their care has become sub par in my opinion. I wasn’t offered any ice for my wrist, no pain relievers only after about 45 mins. (just Tylenol which is fine, that’s what I take at home). Just be aware and listen to your body more than anything. I will not be going back, I’ll drive just about anywhere else first.
