Higgins Animal Clinic

Yesterday I had to put down my beloved Pyrenees of 6 years. I got 2 of those extra years with her because of Dr. Damiana's poise and grace in always having an answer to keeping Annie's quality of life suitable and managing her pain. Though I moved recently, she even took the time to speak to me on the phone about the upcoming euthanasia. All of the techs and receptionists were always exceptionally kind with us and gentle with my girl. I would recommend them to anyone.

I absolutely love this place! The vets are super nice and informative. They're more than willing to answer any questions you have. I had to take my kitten in for stomach issues/potential blockage and they took me to the back, showed me his X-ray, and explained everything we were looking at which was very relieving. The receptionists have also been extremely helpful whenever we have called with questions. It is a bit on the expensive side, but without much to compare it to, I am happy paying their prices for the care my pets are getting there!

I was dropping my dog off for surgery and observed a major lack of professionalism: a woman was yelling at one of the employees (perhaps she was the practice manager?). She berated them and was swearing at them. It was appalling. If this is how employees are treated without regard for customers, I can only imagine how the animals are treated behind closed doors. I will not be returning to this establishment.

I highly advise to stay away from this clinic. They don’t take your concerns seriously and will chalk it up just as something regular. Went into clinic for vaccine shots today, and told them my dog seems to have a cough and I want to have him examined and see if antibiotics may help. They went on to tell me I would have to come back another day… not because they were busy, but literally because they didn’t want to. The reason I say they aren’t busy is because when I paid the bill, not one person was doing a lick of work. Stay away from these people, they care about your money and not your animals.

The care here was decent, but the costs were noticeably higher than other clinics, and I felt pressured with add-on products and services for my dog. I also didn’t like not being allowed in the room during exams. I’ve since switched to another veterinarian where prices are more reasonable, customer service is excellent, and I can stay with my dog throughout the visit. That will be my go-to moving forward.
