Heritage Skilled Nursing & Therapy

I am a resident at Heritage and have lived here 7 years. It is a good place to live. The staff are wonderful people. The only thing I wish would bé for the rooms to be bigger, but that is not that big of a deal. I am from Tecumseh and have had several relatives that have lived here and they liked it also.

I am so very thankful to the staff at heritage. I had an unexpected illness that landed me in need of skilled nursing care after a lengthy hospital stay and surgeries. I was moved to heritage. At first I was scared to death to be in a "nursing home" but my fears were calmed quickly by the staff. From housekeeping to administration all of the employees treated me like family. They not only helped me heal physically but emotionally too. There are definitely "angels" working at heritage and taking care of the residents I am preparing to go home tommirrow to resume my daily life but I do know that my time at heritage will always be a warm caring memory that will stay with me . Grandmother was here for 2 weeks. Building was mostly clean and most the staff was helpful. They offered alternatives to the meals they were serving. Meals were bland in flavor, which is understandable, they don't want to upset stomachs. They were quick to notify family of any changes or concerns. There were 2 younger ladies who were rude and short with my grandmother and they let her sit down too hard on the toilet causing her to bruise her tailbone. The staff occasionally treated patients like children. I didn't see any signs of the staff physicaly abusing patients. Staff was quick to get patients what they needed/ wanted. I'd given them a higher rating if bathrooms were cleaned more often and if the few nurses were more empathetic. Also the building did NOT smell bad or like "a nursing

Oh my goodness!!! This place is answered prayers. Maybe I’m jumping the gun here as my mom just got transferred here or maybe the nursing home she was transferred from was sooo awful that this one is just sooo amazing!!! First off walking thru the front door, there is NO bad odor to greet you, smells clean. The staff is friendly & attentive. The meals are awesome & flexible. Physical therapy is working with my mom and getting her moving (she’s been confined to a bed since 3/30/24. The other place didn’t work with her at all, didn’t bath her (or even a sponge bath) until right before her transport out of there. Being there for 5 days (tooooo long) w/no bath until time for her to be moved to Heritage. The staff at Heritage has already bathe her. And she’s only been there 2 days!!! The othe

My mother who has dementia has been at Heritage since March 21, 2020. I have been very pleased with the staff which I have worked with as well as the administration. I was hesitant to place my mom in a facility due to the “horror stories” I have heard over the years, but Heritage has been above my expectations. As difficult as it can be dealing with a person with dementia as a caregiver or facility staff member, they have helped her maintain her dignity. They have communicated with me at every turn. They have accommodated us in being able to do window visits and still staying within State COVID guidelines. She has received consistent, quality medical care. I would highly recommend Heritage as a place for your loved one to live.
