I’m impressed with the North 2nd floor nurses and staff! Very caring and explain everything clearly. Dan and Amethyst are awesome! Monique on night shift is amazing and has so much compassion! Marcus(ICU) was very attentive and exceptional at his profession. I’m thankful for them for taking such good care of my loved one. This hospital is cleaner than most that I’ve been to!

I wish I had read the reviews of their recent ER wait times and issues with efficiency. Our one nurse was cool but shot blood all over my kid on accident while drawing. No biggie but odd. The doc was fine but so slow and we only saw her for a few minutes before she was off again for hours. We arrived shortly before 8pm and it’s 1:30am as I type this. Our lab work is delivered normal, which I saw in MyChart, hours and hours before any doctor comes to see us. I’m not sure what’s happening here, but they need to find a way to work effectively through patient flow. I mean it’s an ER in the USA What was I expecting Care? I want to publicly thank the team at Henry Ford Macomb Emergency Department. I have gone to McLaren for most of my life, but after repeated experiences where my daughter was dismissed while clearly ill, I made the decision to drive 30 minutes to Henry Ford instead — and I am so glad I did. My daughter was evaluated quickly, tested appropriately, and diagnosed with Influenza A. The staff monitored her carefully, explained everything clearly, and never made me feel rushed or dramatic for advocating for my child. The physician who treated her was exceptionally kind, patient, and thorough. He did not default to unnecessary antibiotics, which I deeply respect. Responsible medicine matters. I wanted to leave a positive review as I know I was initially worried when I saw the 2.5 stars. My family member needed heart surgery and he received EXCEPTIONAL care. Everyone from his surgeon, Dr.Alnajjar, to his surgical nursing team, to the ICU staff was word class. It is a newer facility so everything looks clean and welcoming. Hot tip- consider brining your own coffee though. Also Beyond Juice is close by and have great food options while you wait!

Please if u can avoid the er please do go to urgent. We have been here for 4 to 5 hours. Everyone before us and even some that have come in with the last 50 people got seen before. Understand no I dont understand. My financee feels like his head is going to pop so much pressure his teeth hurt Now the management the manager of nursing came to talk to me. Well the couple before could of had self hurting thoughts. Wow really Now we have to lie about hurting ourselves so we get seen. I have been going to henry ford hospital for years. The inside staff is great. This ER really needs works. It's time to expand ur Er. Or give people option to go somewhere else. Come on America wake up sitting in Er for 5 hours is stupid and should not be tolerated. And please I am getting too old to understand
