Henry Ford Family Medicine - East Michigan Avenue

I had a great visit with Lena Ziskie, CNP. She listened to me as I explained my condition, she evaluated my symptoms and then prescribed my necessary medications. She was VERY THOROUGH, SUPER KIND, ATTENTIVE, AND EXTREMELY HELPFUL. I very much appreciated her care and the visit as a whole. This location has great reviews and if it is possible I am considering changing my PCP.

Everyone in this office is very professional and polite except for Karen van Eck CNP. She doesn't listen to my issues, talks over me, changes my scripts without telling me. Writes orders for me that she doesnt discuss with me. When it comes to my medication refills I am told by her that I have refills at my preferred pharmacy, which is never true. When messages are sent to her stating pharmacy states no refills she is rude and condescending. I have had some serious health issues for uears so I know warning signs and when to see my primary, when I see her I am made to feel stupid and to feel like I don't know what my body is telling me. I love this office, but I am going to a different practice and my primary will be an actual medical doctor. I will never again have my primary be a nurse pr

Understandable this isn’t a pediatric center however but it was the only office open at the time and I needed help, they had horrible bedside manner. Terrible with communication about serious concerns, didn’t listen at all and didn’t even assess the patient. Not willing to explore any options when I was in a bind with my child being unable to eat about a month (a 6 month old) and basically kicked me out saying “you’re only here because you didn’t like the answer you got elsewhere” and that’s a quote from the doctors mouth. Lack of empathy and treated me and my son like we’re less important than he was.

They were a good place to go to for a while, DR Rutt was great ( no longer works there) but recently since my wife and I were changing to a different health strategy. Her doctor found out and she canceled all my wife’s prescriptions without even telling her! she was down to her last couple of doses and had to scramble to get the new doctor to fill them. Also, Karen kept pushing certain drugs on my wife. I’m not saying she WAS getting kickbacks from those drugs companies, but she was upset when my wife wouldn’t go to the new drugs that she was pushing. After 10 years of going here, I think that pretty damn petty of her!

The entire staff it's fantastic. Everyone is very caring, and it definitely feels like they love their jobs. My doctor is amazing, and she works with me to find out what is going on with me, taking my thoughts and concerns into consideration. I feel like I can trust my medical team, and I can be very honest with them which is not always easy to find.
