Heartland Nursing

While the decor is quite modest ( why I didn’t rate 5 stars), the staff at Heartland surpassed my expectations. My mom received the attention and skills she required in a very pleasant and timely manner. Every effort was made to accommodate her.

My mom is dead today because of this "so called" rehab facility. For those claiming that the facility is clean without odor, I can't help but think that you were either paid or are employed by the facility. The smell of urine in certain areas is enough to make you vomit. Wallpaper is coming off walls, baseboards are missing and the roof was leaking over a nurse's station causing a moldy smell. The only person who seemed to care was a nurse named Annie. Everyone else seemed to be passing time and collecting a paycheck. The state of Florida should shut this location, investigate management, and prosecute to the fullest. Some time in prison might make these people more empathetic and less aloof. My uncle was at Heartland for eight months. They took excellent care of him while he was there. The entire staff were kind and compassionate even when he was a bit cranky and not so nice. The facility is always clean and well kept. The director Paula knows all the residents by name, and the bookkeeper Felicia would always answer any questions regarding billing issues since being new to Medicaid. I would highly recommend Heartland to anyone needing a place to put a loved one suffering with dementia.

Our mom, who has dementia, has been living here for six months. She does not speak English, but the staff treats her with patience, kindness, and true love, making sure she is always safe and comfortable. My sister and I see her twice a day, and it thrills our hearts to see how much care and attention she receives. We are grateful that our mom is surrounded by such caring and dedicated people every day.

My Mom suffers from dementia . She has been a resident at Heartland for about 4 years. We are extremely happy with the care she receives. The staff is attentive and very helpful -- my Mom is always clean. I would recommend this place to anyone.
