Negligent, ignorant or both? They could care less about their patients. I have several neuro issues and I also have widespread and severe allergies to chemicals, air fresheners, perfumes, etc. This is all over my chart and HHC Ayer Center and other HHC offices have literally caused me to go into anaphylaxis nearly a dozen times in the last 10 yrs because they insist on having air fresheners and Febreze polluting every office. Pay no mind that EVERY SINGLE MEDICATION ASSOCIATION AND ORGANIZATION state that perfumes and scented products absolutely DO NOT BELONG in medical settings. Don't expect HHC neurologists who SHOULD BE EVEN THE SMALLEST BIT EDUCATED ON THE EFFECT of these scented toxins on the nervous system and MIGRAINES to give a damn. EVERY SINGLE HHC BUILDING smells more like PERFU

Beware — this place may cause more headaches than it relieves. In my experience, this office has been one of the most disorganized and stressful practices I’ve ever interacted with. Every phone call involved sitting on hold for an unreasonably long time, and even with a STAT referral, it took months just to secure an appointment. When I did finally get scheduled, the appointment was entered incorrectly — leading to more calls, more time on hold, and even more frustration. I saw Dr. Soh for an initial consultation, and the visit was deeply disappointing. Despite the appointment lasting almost two hours, it felt as though he spent most of that time talking rather than listening. Absolutely the most incompetent office staff anywhere in the Hartford Healthcare system. They have layers upon layers of staff who hand off a problem to another person to another person to another person and nothing gets resolved. I have been calling for 10 days now to get a longtime prescription refilled and while multiple people have apologized repeatedly for the delay NOTHING has been done because ONE doctor is on vacation apparently. Am now waiting for Cesar the office manager or Dr. Grosberg to call me back. This is the second time we have experienced this issue in a year and the last time we will ever depend on them for headache relief. Anyone have any recommendations?

I have always had a pleasant experience here. Mary APRN and her medical assistant, Kate, are both phenomenal and personable. I like that Mary is not aggressive or pushy with treatment but rather tries to understand the whole picture before offering options. She is extremely thorough which can be challenging to find in a provider.

It took a while for me to decide this review, but if it helps even one patient it’s worth it. The West Hartford Headache Center is a poorly run, poorly staffed office with inept or incompetent support staff and fellows. After my neurologist retired he referred me to Dr Grosberg for a rare condition. I scheduled an appointment but about two weeks before the appointment I was phoned and told that Dr Grosberg would be out for a month. I was informed that another doctor would see me and they were qualified to deal with my condition. I should also mention that I travel 4 hours each way to see this specialist because there are no specialists closer. On the day of the appointment I was assigned a fellow who was clearly in this above her skis. She mumbled, was brash, and had no idea how to help.
