Dr. Rutland is a highly competent physician. Coming from a family loaded with doctors, I can discern good ones from poor ones.

Dr. Rutland is one of the very best doctors I have ever encountered...maybe even the best. He saw me on referral by my PCP following bladder surgery done by another doctor/surgeon, who had been unsuccessfully treating me for an infection after surgery with four rounds of various antibiotics over four months. Dr. Rutland immediately saw that my problem was not even an infection but instead one of extreme urine retention. He treated me for that and finally referred me back to the surgeon to have repair surgery done to loosen a urethral sling that was too tight. Not fun to have to do another surgery, but I got immediate relief following surgery! Complete ignored my request for a different, cheaper medication that wouldn't take 3/4 of my yearly allotment for subsidy. I'm a senior citizen on a fixed income. It was 8 days. I called almost every day and faxed too. No response. I gave up and went elsewhere. It cost me 8 days of interrupted sleep; having to get up 5-6 times a night to go to the bathroom. Plus it continued for the month it took me to find a new doctor. Dr Rutland didn't care. Stay away from him. I guess he's got plenty of patients and can't take time to take care of them all.

Struggling to write a good review but professionally, Dr Rutland deserves a higher rating than the practice manager. I experienced a high level of incompetency in the scheduling of an appointment. There were multi levels of errors causing the deletion of my appointment. This caused a day off from work for nothing, and a need to reschedule the appointment. There phones open and close at 9 am and 5 PM, make sure you check your appointment during those hours, there is no open phone before or after that. There website is not updated to reflect their new address, if you go to the old one, it is a long walk to the correct building. Practice management needs to be cleaned up.
