Hancock County Health System

Dad was recently admitted through the ER center, staying for 3 nights. We were 100% pleased with his care. He continually said he had the best Doctor, nurses and aides. Oh....and the food was outstanding. Thank you Hancock County Hospital for your service.

Check in thru the E.R., When we got in I was a little frantic, I informed the lady at the desk (Jackie), my wife was not feeling good, her fever at home was 102.7. i was informed we need to check in first! So I said so if she passes out now then she can go in quicker? Then it was like, every time I asked a question, it was like What now? No sympathy at all, or good customer service. I felt like every time I asked a question it was met with the what now attitude? Never been treated like it before.

Just went to Britt Hospital for a routine procedure today. Cleanliness 5*. Check-in. 5* prompt and efficient Nursing staff. 5* very skillful IV insertion SDS staff/Anesthesiology. 5* explained everything in layman's terms. Brought me several nice warm blankets Surgeon Dr. Schwalbe 5* Awesome! She actually read my chart for my cancer history 25 years ago. Recovery/discharge. 5* I asked for hot tea and got a delicious blueberry scone along with it. Very pleasant experience. Would not hesitate to use their services again.

Several years ago, when living in Britt, this hospital near killed me. If not for an NP in the Clinic, who told us to get in the car and drive to Mayo, I would not be here. Now, on a visit to Britt, my wife has a sudden serious issue with her hand and wrist. We had no choice but here and figured how hard could it be. They completely misdiagnosed a severe infection in her wrist joint for a sprained wrist. My wife's pain was way past 10, which she lived with for four days, until our return to Colorado, where they rushed her into emergency surgery and told us she could have lost her hand. She still may not regain full use of it. Here we are a month later, following surgery, a 7-Day Hospital stay and daily antibiotic infusions still going on. One thing for sure, never again.
