Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center

Just recently had a 5 day stay in the hospital here. I had a great experience overall, the nurses were kind and accommodating and cared for me appropriately, specifically nurse Jeanette she was amazing. I only give 4 stars because I feel the doctors could have communicated more with me but they did they best they could i understand. I had to come from the ER at St Joseph’s where they dismissed my case and sent me home. So grateful I ended up coming to mountainside because they realized how serious my medical condition was and immediately took me in and treated me promptly. Mountainside is definitely now my choice of hospital in this area!

Delivered my son 2/6/26 the nurses and doctors are the best! This was my second c section but my first one was somewhere else and very scary but in this hospital everything went smooth since day one until my last day. Thank you to everyone that took care of my baby and I. Shout out to nurse Jennifer for taking care of me all three days during the night when it was really tough for me. Loved it here. And also to doctor peace she did an amazing job with the surgery!

Terrible service and complete lack of respect for patients. I waited almost four hours in the emergency room while they kept calling people who arrived after me. I was the only Hispanic person in the waiting area, and I cannot ignore how discriminatory the situation felt. It was humiliating and extremely frustrating. No one provided clear explanations about the delay. I spent my entire Sunday there just waiting. I absolutely do not recommend this hospital. There is a serious lack of organization and consideration for patients.

I struggled with whether to write this review, but I think it’s important for other moms to hear honest experiences. This was my third baby, so I felt confident in understanding my body and the stages of labor. Unfortunately, during my delivery in November 2024, I did not feel heard or supported by the medical team. I received an epidural, but it only worked on one side of my body. I communicated that I was still in significant pain, feeling full contractions on my right side while my left side was numb. The pain was intense and I was unable to rest. With my previous births, my epidurals worked fully and I was comfortable and supported. The most difficult part was when I repeatedly told staff that I felt the urge to push. I delivered my baby at this hospital and had an induced labor, and I truly could not have asked for a better experience. From the moment the induction process started, I felt supported, and safe. The labor and delivery team was professional. A very special thank you to Nurse Crystal, she made all the difference. She was calm, kind, incredibly knowledgeable.
