Hackensack Meridian Health Pediatric Cardiology

I had zero experience with the doctor. This review is of the office staff. My son had a heart surgery at CHOP. We were referred to zales for a follow up. I made a six week follow up and the day before the appointment the office informed me they would not see my child because the referral was coming from Philadelphia. I told them it was imperative that my son be seen because he just had heart surgery and they did not care. The staff was rude and the office manager yelled and cursed at me. I’ve never seen such unprofessional behavior from a doctors office. My son could have had serious complications from not seeing the doctors after his procedure. Again, no experience at all with the doctor. Just a rude, disrespectful, cold and heartless office manager and staff.

Dr. Alpert is a personable, and professional provider. During my sons visit, Dr. Alpert did a thorough work up and evaluation. Office and clinical staff were friendly as well. Highly recommend!

Amazing experience. Clean office, friendly professional staff. Quick wait time. Dr Alpert was personable and patient with my baby, and explained everything to me thoroughly. There were (clean ) toys provided to distract my baby during the exams etc. definitely highly recommend this practice.

Beautiful office, wonderful staff and Dr. Alpert is just a good and kind human being, in addition to being a thorough and trustworthy doctor. If you find your child needs a pediatric cardiologist, you can be assured that they are in good hands. He was recommended by every doctor and hospital we met with, in addition to our much loved pediatrician. His reputation precedes him for good reason.

As one would imagine, having to visit a pediatric cardiologist can be a very stressful experience. Unfortunately, the office staff only adds to the stress with their disorganization, lack of communication and overall carelessness. My daughter who was being treated for kawasaki had her appointment canceled on multiple dates without notice. Other times we would show for an appointment and be turned away as they had not submitted to insurance in time for the appointment to be approved. Being in the administrative field myself, my opinion is the staff is alarmingly underperforming. That said, Dr. Umali is wonderful. She takes the time to explain her examinations as they are happening, giving you peace of mind. The nurses in the office are equally as amazing, helping ease children’s worries
