GW Endocrinology - West End: 2300 M Street

Sent several refill requests for my insulin through my pharmacy and several messages on MyChart. I then receive communication from my pharmacist, telling me "your prescriber has denied your request as the medication is no longer needed" I need insulin to live. Communication and support for health is poor

Dr. Baldwin at GW Endocrinology has been wonderful. Extremely knowledgeable, responsive and has excellent communicative skills. Not only was she thorough in my examination, but also saved me a nice amount of $$$ with a referral to a discount pharmacy. We recently moved back to DC and had to find all new doctors. EVERYONE at GW has been fantastic. They are on-time, smart, organized and total professionals. Great team!

Once again, I have tried to refill my insulin at this clinic as it has been impossible. I sent a refill request through mychart over a week ago and have gotten no response. When I called the clinic, whoever answered was very unhelpful and said she would tell the doctor it was urgent. It has now been 4 days since that phone call and nothing has happened. This is now the second time this has happened to me and I have had to go to an urgent care/emergency dept to get my insulin to LIVE. The doctors at this location are fine, but the staff does NOT communicate and they clearly do not care if you get your refills on time. :(

If I could give this office a zero star rating I would. If you need a medication to live (like insulin) do not get it prescribed through them because once it runs out it is impossible to get ahold of them to refill it. My prescription ran out of refills without me knowing so when I went to refill it at the pharmacy I couldn't. I put in a request through MyChart and they sent in the wrong prescription. I called to try to talk to someone as my correct prescription disappeared off of MyChart. After being on hold for over 4 hours, I called back and selected the option to make an appointment rather than the medication refill so that I could hopefully speak to a real person. Finally got through and the woman who answered had an attitude from the start. She told me that they "do not work on deman

She patiently answers all of my questions, alleviating any anxieties I had about my condition and treatment plan. Her approach instilled confidence in me, knowing that I was in capable hands.
