Gulf Coast Pediatrics of Sarasota

Being new to the area, I needed a PCP for my child. I set up an appointment for a simple 'meet and greet'...... not for any medical treatment, as my child is healthy. Upon calling the office I spoke with a lovely receptionist, who was very kind and informative. Before scheduling the appointment, I inquired if it would be a problem if my family did not participate in certain 'medical procedures'. She spoke with the Doctor directly, who said "It would not be a problem, nor would any paperwork need to be filled out regarding the refusal of such procedures". This was the last pleasant experience I had with this facility. We had to wait an hour in the reception area, which I did not complain about because sometimes these things happen. However, when we finally saw Dr Perez, I was regaled with

Dr. Perez is the best, most knowledgeable pediatrician my children have ever had! I saw other reviews that weren't great. But I know from over 10 years experience that he knows what he's talking about. If there's something you don't want to hear he still has to tell you. Our son became non-verbal at 2 and Dr. Perez wanted us to get him tested for developmental disorders. I said "oh no he's fine he's just shy or quiet." But again Doc was right, our son ended up being very high on the Autism spectrum. Now because of him again,(referrals and advice),our son gets 3 different kinds of therapies right at school every day and is improving constantly. I would recommend Dr. Perez to anyone looking for a no nonsense, great pediatrician that will always put the health of your child above all else.

We had a condescending experience with this doctor and like other people say he is rude, condescending and not even appropriate with dealing with small children. It felt more like an adult doctor than a pediatrics office. The nurses were nice but it felt stuffy and the doctor was borderline insufferable to deal with. I will not go back and no one should take their child here. I left coming away with a bad feeling than feeling like my child was cared for.

Dr. Perez is an outstanding pediatrician. He has been our three children’s doctor since birth. He knows his medicine and cares deeply about their well-being. He is very conscientious and stays updated to medical advances and current outbreaks. He is quick to respond to after hour calls. We consider him part of our family and a dear friend. We would highly recommend him!

Dr Perez takes care of my 3 sons and has done so for 8 years! He is a wonderful dr and very straight forward. My kids enjoy his hunting and fishing stories! He has done so much for my boys weather they are sick or just need well visits. He makes sure they always get what they need and he is prompt at returning after hours calls!
