I drove an hour to bring my four year old son here for a cleaning/dental exam. I am so grateful that I trusted my instinct and didn't follow through with Doctor Jessie's plan of treatment. My visit started with the hygienist who was kind and did well doing a cleaning and initial check with my son. The dentist came in, checked his teeth for about 10 seconds and determined he had 6 cavities. I asked how big etc and what we needed to do she immediately scolded me and said "you need to deal with these as soon as possible" and went on to say she can't know without an x ray how big they are and with how he did with my exam I doubt we can get an x ray. (my son did fantastic for her so this comment confused me) I pushed the issue for an x ray and the assistant said she would take him and get an x

I am giving one star solely for the welcoming receptionist and the kind dental hygienist. However, Dr. Jessie Hoffman should not be working in patient care. This was our first visit to address my 6-year-old’s cavities. As we waited in a private room (over 25 minutes past our appointment time), my child was passing the time making silly faces while patiently waiting in the chair, and I was taking photos of him at his request. Suddenly, a masked woman barged in, berating me for taking pictures of my own kid, citing privacy concerns and rudely demanding that I delete them. I was taken aback by her unprofessional behavior, especially since this was our first time there and I apparently missed her sign on the cabinet that she sternly pointed to. “Dr. Jesse” is very condescending. Every time you ask a question that she doesn’t agree with, she responds with an attitude. Our daughter had an X-ray (not great quality) and she determined she had a cavity and it needed filled immediately. We discussed options and she stated if the “child needs sedation we will Put on a silver cap because it’s easier.” When I raised my concerns about my child having a bunch of caps she said we could get a second opinion and find someone who accepts our insurance. When we went to another dentist for a second opinion they also noticed the cavity but insisted that it wasn’t terrible and that a silver cap wouldn’t even be the best solution given the placement of the cavity between the teeth. Dr. Jessie is a class act and the best pediatric dentist in town! She has over a decade of experience treating kids and is a mom herself. I completely trust her to treat my child as she would treat her own. Several years ago, my 5 year old son came home from school with a gash on his lip--it had scabbed over so we didn't notice it until it was bath time. Realizing it might need stitches I tried the pediatrician to get a second opinion and when I couldn't reach them I called Dr. Jessie. She immediately got back to me and after I sent her photos of the cut she was able to walk me through what needed to be done and to ease my concerns. To this day I remain so incredibly thankful that she helped us!
