B.L.U.F.: As I am not directly the guardian of the residents I visit here I cannot fairly give a full rating. HOWEVER, at least 4 of out 5 stars goes straight to the staff! The staff here clearly make the residents and visitors feel welcome. I want to thank them for always being kind and helpful. They make the difference and should be commended. Overtime, more of my family is choosing this center. Experience for residents and visitors is very pleasant. The whole center is clean and very well furnished. They decorate seasonally and allow visitors to use the many beautiful hall-type dining rooms for private events. Having a small family birthday party inside was very easy and we always had plenty of help when needed, say for switching a walker for a wheelchair or simply getting extra napkin
DO NOT have your loved one stay here! The conditions are deplorable. My mom stayed here previously (2021) for rehab and had a wonderful experience. Recently my mom needed rehabilitation assistance and we choose The Greenville Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center again based on previous experience. Unfortunately we were misled. The rehabilitation wing is no longer open and my mom was placed on the nursing home and memory care side. The rooms are crowded, in need of repair and rundown. The food is awful! Please Rhode Island Department of Health visit this facility. The only positive experience my mom had this time was with the Physical and Occupational Therapy Assistants and their sessions. They were very good!
My aunt is staying at the greenville center facility, although she wants to go home and she is sad at times, her stay at the greenville center facility is unavoidable. it's certainly understandable. The calendar in her room is filled with activity. If the subject wants to partake in it. She looks very healthy, Well taken care of. I didn't see any interaction with my aunt and the nurses, but I do believe,They are just as nice to my auntas that were to me. The nurses are friendly and I had a very nice conversation with several nurses. The area is quaint, setback, a quiet, woodland atmosphere. Though we did not wander outside, the courtyard is very large, with plenty of sitting areas with nature all around.
I CAN'T STRESS ENOUGH....DO NOT PUT YOUR LOVED ONE IN THE LOCK DOWN DEMENTIA WARD. IT IS NOT FIT FOR HUMANS. It is a total NIGHTMARE! They manhandled and over-drugged my poor mother (dementia) with anti-psychotics and a host of other drugs. They were giving her meds that were ordered to be stopped. I tried to call the resident Doctor many times. You could only text him. He never responded. I tried to talk to the head nurse many times ....she walked away from me! If they treat the family like this, you can only imagine how they treat your loved one. NO ONE CARED! A nightmare. Most of the patients are seriously demented. Patients are screaming with no clothes on. The same person over and over again. Staff ignored her. Male staff bully and threaten the poor demented souls. This place is not
The care at the Greenville Center is very lacked. I brought my mother to the Greenville Center because she needed special care, which I was unable to provide. She had been at the Center on two occasions for respite. My decision to admit her to Greenville was based on the care she received during that time. Care on respite is different from care as a permanent resident. I had two requests that were necessary for her since she has Parkinsons Disease. These two requests were expressed upon admittance and I was assured they would be addressed. One of the issues was assistance with meals; she was left many times to eat her meals without assistance, which at times is very difficult. If she made any attempt to try and help herself staff left and said "she could do it herself." She was no
