Greater Mobile Urgent Care – Springhill

I hate I had to mark 1 star to leave -0 stars review. Stay away from Greater Mobile Urgent Care. They are racist and condescending! Take your your money and insurance somewhere. As a Black family, we left this urgent care feeling dismissed and deeply disappointed. My son has a significant cut on his hand and was in visible pain. He was evaluated, we were charged, and then told to use over the counter medication. No meaningful pain management options were offered. When I asked about pain control, I was told they “do not give out pain medication.” That response felt dismissive. It should not feel like you have to beg for equality in healthcare simply because you are Black. It should not feel like you have to advocate twice as hard just for your pain to be taken seriously. Terrible experience. I took my daughter in for a routine sports physical and the physician failed her for having 20/40 vision in both eyes which is the minimum threshold for passing a sports physical. Vision worse than 20/40 warrants not passing. The physician said she “Googled it” to confirm and suggested I was endangering my daughter by allowing her to play, even though my daughter felt she could see fine. Concerned, I researched it and found that 20/40 vision is considered mild visual impairment and does not require corrective lenses for sports participation--its by choice. This visit was a complete waste of time and money and we were not told medically correct information that resulted in inconvenience and frustration. Dr. Parag Mahatekar was wonderful! He examined thoroughly, and on his advice we went to the ER. The ER doctor concurred with Dr. Parag's diagnosis and treatment. Thank you Dr. Parag for your excellent care, especially when we were vacationing in an unfamiliar space.

Excellent service, very professional. We've been coming here for over ten years, and the service is always very good, fast, and timely. It's close to home, so it's our favorite place to go before going to the hospital. Thank you very much.
