I came to Grand Valley Dentistry when they were first open and recruiting new patients. I got an appointment the next day. That was 6 months ago and I have been trying to reschedule a cleaning for over a month. The first call I left a voice message and got no reply. The second call I got an AI generated robot answer and still received no call back. The third and forth calls were answered by a recorded voice mail and have not been answered. I don’t know what is up with the office. Did the building burn down? Is the receptionist dead? They certainly have terrible office support. This is too bad because I felt the hygienists and dentists were very good. It is very poor practice to not take care of your patients. Grand Valley Dentistry presents itself as modern and patient-centered, but my experience fell short in several important ways, especially when compared to other dental practices in the area. Communication was a problem from the start. The office relies on an AI phone assistant that makes it difficult to reach a real person. That alone made addressing my visit-related concerns unnecessarily frustrating. The in-office experience did not improve things. I went to Grand Valley Dentistry for a cleaning after going 4 years without one. I was very nervous about being at a dentist again and about what they might find wrong. The staff themselves were very nice and good about explaining and answering my questions. That's what got them an extra star because the people there want to do their best to help you. However, my prescribed treatment for cavities was overkill (as described by my old dentist to whom I went for a second opinion). They suggested inlays when simple fillings sufficed. Speaking of the second opinion, I needed my xrays sent to me, and it was impossible to get ahold of the office by phone. I have been to multiple Dentist in Allendale and have decided to make Grand Valley Dentistry my dental home. Everything was great from start to finish I couldn't be more pleased with my visit. They made it feel like I was visiting friends and not the dentist.
