Glen Cove Hospital

I have had two surgeries at this hospital. US News rate it five stars. I concur. From pre-op to post-op, the staff is flawless, competent, warm and kind. In one's hour of need, these qualities are highly coveted to secure a level of comfort and to soothe the nerves. The hospital and staff are exemplary in their professionalism. Credit has to also go to management as they lead by example. You are in good hands there.

I wish I can give 0 star. My dad was in glen cove rehab after his knee surgery for . He had terrible experience in that rehab. He had to wait hours and hours to get help with anything we was not even getting his pain medication on time because they don’t respond to the call lights.At night sometimes he had to scream for help for hours. I complained to manager and supervisor about this but nothing changed.They don’t care about patient safety. Only the PT department was very good doing their job. Therapist Dianne and syara was so good to my dad other than that I will never recommend this rehab to nobody.

Caring, attentive Nurses, great staff. My mother received excellent care, and was treated like a queen by everyone that was involved in her care. I wouldn’t hesitate to turn to Glen Cover Hospital again in the future if the need arises!

Just an update I started moving my arm today and my fingers a few days ago I will forever be grateful for all you especially Dr Araim and Krystal in ot and Clara in pt thank you for being so patient with me and not taking my fear and pain personal. Some people would have taken my lashing out personal but it wasn’t I was just afraid and in pain so I was frustrated with myself and every one of you was so patient and kind and I retained so much that I learned from you and I’ve been doing it everyday and it’s working because I’m already moving my arm and fingers. I wish I could give you 10000 stars because you gave me the confidence to know that everything is going to be alright my stroke was on September 6 and a little over a month later and I’m showing very significant signs of improvement t

My wife, a Parkinson's patient, who had previously been in this hospital for rehabilitation fell at home and was brought to GC again. She was evaluated in the ED and I was told she would be sent to the rehab floor. She was then admitted to a medical floor. I inquired several times about PT and she got a session or two bedside prior to discharge to a short term rehab facility. Her week there was a series of problems with the transfer process as the case manager sent referrals to wrong facilities with wrong insurance information. As the week dragged on I asked again about the rehab unit there and was referred to the floor's MD. I was rudely rebuked by the doctor who harshly reminded me of the decision not to admit her to rehab and the ED doctor was wrong to tell me about an admission there.
