Gentle Dental Ashland

Gentle Dental in Ashland is a clinic that I most definitely will be returning to. The staff is incredibly kind. I have had fillings done there as well as a cleaning. The doctor Backus is very thorough with her examination and does a great job of explaining why I needed what I needed. Their hygienist Becky is the most thorough hygienist I have ever been to! Yes, there is a wait to get on their schedule, but I do believe that the wait is worthwhile! I was very impressed by everyone in this facility. God bless their hands and the work that they do. I am very happy with their services.

Came in as a new patient after waiting months for an appt and was told I had to have an exam before I could get a cleaning. Okay fine- I waited months for an appt and did the exam (during which the doctor asked if I had any issues and I did so she fixed a filling for me). I also sent in my x rays from my previous dentist and made a new appt for a cleaning which took several more months. Got a call that I couldn’t get a cleaning because I hadn’t had an exam. Apparently the doctor put in my file that I came in for a single issue and not the exam so I’ve had to wait even longer. When the hygienist called me to tell me that I couldn’t get a cleaning she literally said I was lying about getting my exam lol. The service I received was excellent but I was surprised that my appointment was only for an evaluation and I had to go in for a second appointment to get my cleaning. Luckily they were able to get me in on the same day and I only had to wait an hour for my cleaning. The staff at this location was excellent!

I had to set an appointment six months out. They finally called me yesterday and when I called back, nobody answers. It was only 4:30 but obviously someone had closed the business down early. It’s hard for me to get in touch during business hours because I actually have a job. When I showed up for the appointment today, after taking time off of work, they told me it was canceled. If you are looking for a business that answers the phone during their stated business hours, this is not it. If you are looking for a business that is sensitive to the fact that you’ve been waiting six months for an appointment, this is not it. Finally, if you want a business that doesn’t just call to confirm, but actually leaves a message so you know what they need from you, this is not it. I was very disappointe

I had a few scheduling hiccups, but overall, the experience was excellent. The staff is professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely kind. The space is architecturally modern—not your average dental office. Highly recommend!
