I was referred to this Genetics Center by my previous doctor, and the entire experience turned out to be a complete sham. The “consultation” provided nothing that actually pertained to my child. Instead, they spent the time explaining how certain genetic conditions can present in children—conditions my baby had already tested negative for or was considered low risk. Rather than addressing my existing results, the appointment felt like it was designed to create fear and desperation, only to then push additional testing. I was presented with invasive options like amniocentesis, framed as “seeing what they can find,” which felt less like medical guidance and more like a sales pitch for tests. Horrible, traumatizing experience. My NT scan came back slightly elevated, but, pursuant to the doctor's advice, I was going to see what happened after the level 2 ultrasound and NIPT results; my understanding was there was no need for further action until these clarifying steps were taken. Despite this advice, GC called me and pressured me to schedule an appointment. This was so contrary to my understanding of the doctor's advice that the call made me cry. But they told me if I didn't make an appointment, I might not get a timely appointment if it turned out, after the level 2 ultrasound and NIPT results, that I needed to talk to a genetics counselor. Had a few visits with my spouse at this location. And the experience and communication has been great with soon appointments. Also going over results we did not feel rushed and they answered all of our questions and concerns. Shout out to the following staff that has assisted us so far: Anna, Liz, Amanda, Mathew, and Zadeh. They cancel appointments without notice and said they called but couldn’t provide dates and times and my phone was never off and never had a missed call. If this was one time I’d understand, but it’s happened multiple times. Also, you cannot get through on their phone, you have to leave a voicemail every time so they’re never available.

Extremely frustrating, I've been leaving voicemails since November. No one answers the phone, and I have yet to be called back. Scheduling an appointment has been a nightmare, and I'm figuring I will have to go in person to schedule an appointment. I am sure the doctors are awesome, but I won't know till I actually get an appointment.
