Geisinger Shamokin Area Community Hospital

My own experiences here were interesting. I'm new to this area and unfamiliar with departments within the hospital walls and within the extended buildings. Eventually the Staff, in general, warmed up to me and my special needs. After that happened, the Staff throughout the First Floor of the hospital and Staff from the Ressler Building, were accommodating and genuinely friendly. I need that kind of 'human bean' caring, sharing, giving, love of God Spirit and support. THE PHOTOS I'VE SUBMITTED are of the beautiful, peaceful, calming 'Memories Garden' outside the Main Entrance of this hospital. I’ve been going here for years for Emergency treatment. I’ve never had single problem all those years until Friday December 5th, 2025. I went in for symptoms and was diagnosed. The doctors did their best with what they could but when I got home and checked the results of my CTScan I saw something terrifying that nobody had mentioned to me prior. On my right lung, a 3mm nodule appeared. The report said “most likely benign” but why didn’t anybody tell me? Truly devastated by this. My entire world was flipped upside down in a matter of seconds and a doctor didn’t even have the audacity to tell me about this nodule. Now, I have to reach out to PCP and ask for a follow up visit regarding this “benign nodule” that no doctor or nurse reported to me while at was in the ER from 9am-1pm. This is si

Took my grandfather for a head wound and everyone was so kind and fast acting! Dr Kon was amazing! She stitched him up and answered all our questions and addressed all of our concerns and we were out within an hour!!! Im very impressed with our visit (especially as a health care professional myself)!!! Thank you so much!

Can’t say enough good things about Geisinger Shamokin for my father’s care. Admission was prompt, testing was completed in a timely manner and his care by staff was beyond excellent. They were very accommodating to his needs and communication by staff was the best. Thank you to all for making his stressful situation more manageable.

Room he was put in had bedbugs..he started itching first day there..they accused him of bringing them in his slippers , even though slippers weren't brought there until later. Then they didn't shower him or move to another room for 3 days. Second room was claimed to have them as well but he was never moved. Because of this, the only rehab that would take him is a facility with geisinger Drs..Coincidence???? Gowns worn, then tossed on a pile in the room...makes no sense..what is that protecting? I asked someone to help me pull him up so he could eat..she said yes but never came back, this was typical of care..
