Galen College of Nursing - Salt Lake City

If you would have asked me a year and a half ago my review would have been closer to a 2 but things have changed since then! I started at Galen SLC in October of 2023 when they first opened. I was part of the first cohort up until I didn’t pass one of the courses and got moved to the second cohort. I am now glad to say I’ve passed my final exam and am on track to sit for the NCLEX. When I first started, the campus was brand new and had incredibly shaky to start. There was a lot of uncertainty and frustration regarding policies, procedures, clinicals, and the education we were receiving as the instructors while being amazing people, were first time educators or didn’t know the content well enough. Initially, I felt somewhat intimidated by online classes, particularly regarding technological aspects. However, the education system provided to students not only covers the subject matter but also equips them with the skills necessary to navigate the online environment confidently. With Galen, I am assured that I am on the path to becoming a compassionate nurse, while also acquiring a comprehensive knowledge base that will enable me to feel at ease at the beginning of my career.

I just attended Galen nursing’s open house. I was curious how they could offer a tuition that is thousands of dollars less than any other nursing school. After attending I still don’t know how they do it. Every room has state-of-the-art technology. Robot patients that simulate live birth (amazing to watch)!!! The entire team is so passionate about what they do, why they do it and how they do it. I spoke with nurses attending the college the words “supported, challenged, learning so much, excited to be a part of this culture, they are helping me become the best nurse I can be, ….” I highly recommend this college!!!

Just started going to Galen. Everyone is easy to work with and very helpful. I was able to get enrolled easily and am looking forward to becoming a nurse!

WOULD GIVE ZERO STARS IF I COULD. My time at Galen College of Nursing was one of the most frustrating and disheartening experiences I’ve had. If you’re thinking about applying, I want you to really consider what you’re getting into because it’s not the supportive, organized program it seems to be. The biggest issue? **The Dean and overall leadership (teachers) I had a serious issue with how the administration handled everything. The Dean was completely unapproachable and seemed more concerned with enforcing rules than actually listening to students. Anytime I tried to get clarification on my standing in the program or ask for help navigating some of the challenges I was facing, the response was always cold and dismissive.
