Focused Care at Waxahachie

My mother in law is there, and she gets wonderful care. The place is clean every time we visit, and staff is so friendly to her and us. Just went to a Valentine Prom they hosted and seeing how the staff was with all the patients was so amazing. They really seem to care.

The Administrator is caring and receptive. He has a heart for all those he serves. If you need something fixed, call Dan. Highly recommend this home for short or long term care.

If I could give this place a zero I would. My aunt was recently placed there and we went the second day. They had let her lay in her own urine for hours during then night. While there, they put her on the portable toilet and left her there for over an hour until we had to speak up. She didn’t have any blankets, again we had to say something. The staff acted put out and irritated that they had to bring her and stuff and help her. Had we not been there she probably would still have been ignored. Got a call today she went back to the hospital due to neglecting her and the amount of fluid built up due to them. They will be reported to the state. I do not recommend this place. Wasn’t even anyone at the door screening people. They were all in the back cackling and could clearly see us.

I don’t recommend this place. It had my stepdad wait 6 hours to be changed, he’s disabled. They laughed at us for asking for a tv remote. The trashcan was full and hasn’t been changed. There was food all over the floor and giant pee puddle left there. The AC doesn’t work at all and the windows barely open to let some air in. When it does work there is only hot air. He hasn’t had an actual shower for about a month since he been here. We left clothes here for him to wear and the workers hasn’t put them on him at all. They haven’t given him any of his antibiotic since yesterday. The room is very bland with nothing to do at all other than a tv that doesn’t really work. I just spoke with my mother today and she stated that her father is having a procedure 10/07/19 (today) at Baylor. And, the hospital wanted to know if he had taken his medication and if he had eaten breakfast this morning. My mother in turn called Focused Care and she spoke with someone named Patience and Patience could not answer the questions regarding time of medication taken or time breakfast was eaten. And, that was unprofessional for his medication times not to be entered into his chart. Also, my mother was not informed that a procedure would be done today 10/07/19 until she contacted Focused Care just to check on her father but was told that he would have a procedure today.
