Completely unsurprised by the 1 star review. What's the point in having a phone if you refuse to answer the phone? Plus, ILLEGAL business practices SURPRISE billing. Can't get in touch with them.

Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System is the worse hypocritical catholic hospital I have ever seen. Being a catholic all my life this was really shocking when it comes to billing. I went to the emergency room which I never do. I received a bill for over $2,000 which I would begin paying on for months, bringing it down to $713. I was paying what I can in they still sent it over to collections. Also this hospital is also works with Our Lady of Lakes University in Baton Rouge, LA. If anyone gets a chance to read this do not go to their hospital or school. Because this crazy to treat people like this that are trying to pay the bill, an still get sent over to collections. I tried even calling the billing department to see if there is anything can do, they stated to me the only thing

I have used St Dominics hospital in Jackson MS for years. The urology clinic there overall is OK, but Dr. Ronald Davis my urologist is very good (thus the 2 Stars instead of 1). However the Health System's billing dept needs to be fixed. They misread my insurance this year and overcharged me. This is the first time. I talked to the same woman twice in the billing department. She contradicted herself a couple times while chewing either food or bubble gum. Then, when she admitted their mistake, she said it would 30-45 business days (from 6 to almost 8 weeks!) to correct their error. They just corrected it and sent me a check by itself in an envelope with no apology. They could do so much better.

I had a hip replacement yesterday at OLOLSH. I believe that this is the best medical care I've ever had. I recently retired and started getting Medicaid so I started seeing a new primary care doctor. On my first visit with my new primary I told him about my hip problem. I was in Bogalusa so my primary sent me to OLOTA for blood work for my wellness check, and to have my hip X-rayed. I was supposed to meet with my primary in 4 weeks to discuss my hip but he called me as I was driving home I said that I needed to see an orthopedic doctor the next day. When I saw the orthopedic doctor he made an appointment for me to see the orthopedic surgeon in less than a week. I've been trying to get my hip taken care of for several years. I have always felt good about the care we have received at the Jackson hospital and clinics, however dealing with the system-wide billing offices can be a swim in a sea of incompetence. It took several months to receive credit for money that FMOLHS had received and deposited. Over two months after paying my balance due and after four phone calls, four emails, sharing materials three times, visiting admin staff at my local clinic, and posting on social media, I have heard back from St Dominic staff and from my local Gluckstadt clinic, acknowledging a posting error. I’m thankful that this error was regarding tens of dollars as opposed to thousands, which some unfortunate souls face. Thank you, St Dominic’s, for listening and acting.
