Flowers Hospital - Emergency Room

Very prompt attention. IV start didnt hurt. Questions answered. Having been a RN x 33yrs myself I have expectations. My expectations were met. A nurse from 4th floor took her time from a busy schedule to see that I got a snowball cause snow is seldom here & I love it. That was the best part to me.

Although I certainly didn’t want to find myself in the ER, this was absolutely one of the best experiences I could have had under the circumstances. The entire staff made me feel comfortable, cared for, and truly looked after. A special thank you to Dr. Schul, Adam Bouillon, Holly, Rebekka Manness, Adam Corbin, and the CT staff—you all were outstanding. Your professionalism, kindness, and quick care helped remove a lot of the anxiety from the moment. I’m incredibly grateful for the work you do and the way you take care of your patients. I went to the ER because I couldn't urinate and was vomiting and in pain. The triage nurse didn't really seem to care. She definitely doesn't need to be a nurse. They put in a room and I was left sitting on the bed with no blanket or anything. I was in a lot of pain and I waited for a while to see if anyone was going to at least do an assessment but my husband finally had to go to the nurses station and ask for someone to come help me. I'm 69 years old with Rheumatoid arthritis and I get cold very easily. I told the nurse I was in severe pain and I was cold. She does an in and out cath without covering me up I laid on that stretcher with my pants pulled down and anyone could have walked in. She honestly didn't act like she had ever done it before. The doctor and nurses were great. The nurse practitioner, however was dismissive and refused to listen to me or answer my questions. He ordered two medications and a discharge before giving the medications time to work. Seriously, like 10 minutes after the medications, they discharged me. The meditation did not work and my situation was not resolved. I was forced to go to another hospital's emergency department 13 hours later to have my medical issue properly treated and resolved. My primary care provider said that I should have never been discharged without giving the medications time to take effect and without receiving the proper treatment to resolve my acute medical condition after the medications failed. I recently had an experience in the ER that could have been very stressful, but the entire staff made it incredibly reassuring. From the nurses to the physicians, everyone was compassionate, attentive, and professional. I was treated with respect, my concerns were heard, and the care I received was excellent. I’m truly grateful for the kindness and efficiency shown during my visit. Ginger, Jeff Brannon and Dr. Schul were so Kind and patient w me.
